A penny for my thoughts – they're not worth much more.

Well hopefully, I shouldn’t need to post such bad news so often, but my life has hit a low point and I thought it would be good to get it off my chest.

The last week or so has been, in a word, shit.

Exam pressure is now piling on big time, I’ve had coursework to hand in left, right and centre, and to top that all off, my already complicated relationship has just got even more complicated. The long and short of it is, all of this happening in such a short period of time, combined with the general Winter Blues, and I have contracted some good ol’ depression.

So I’ve had to cut my leisure time down to practically 0, and work, work, work. Needless to say, that’s not helping me improve.

If that wasn’t enough, my tutor at school had a random angry outburst at me when I asked to use the ONLY computer in my classroom for some coursework.

Well, I got off my Gluteals (well, on them, technically) and decided to update my blog.

Hurrah.

Life’s been pretty average. Had some Science GCSEs earlier in January, did all right, hopefully. Made some new friends, lost some old ones. Nothing to write home about…

Well, I got the iPhone yesterday, the brand new 3G[S] model, which will, over the next 24 months, costme about £1000. Fun!

As Eddie Izzard rightly says; “Some people have TechnoFear, I have Techno Joy!” The iPhone manual is in the bin somewhere, and I’ve only had to Google three times to work out how to do things. It’s not even broken yet, which is almost a record as new phones go.

Went out with some friends last night to celebrate my birthday, and despite half the known universe pulling out on the last day, (with excuses ranging from broken noses to urgent 3 hour journeys to Devon) it was a laugh, and that’s what counts. We saw 2012, despite losing the tickets and having to buy new ones, and the film was good, though really should have Nicholas Cage in.

Thought the blog needed some posts,  and this is a cause I care about. I’ve had enough of Smug Hightrousers Cowell monopolising the Christmas Charts. Needless to say I’ve done my bit, and am glad as anything that RATM are still on top!

1. Killing the Name is 17 years old. It’s been troubling radio stations since Joe McElderry was in nappies (diapers if you’re American). In those 17 years it’s never reached the top of any charts. Why should some lucky kid get the honour RATM have waited 17 years for?

2. It’s for Charity. So far the campaign has raised £40,000 for Shelter, and Tom Morello has promised (more than half!) of the earnings to another charity helping REAL young musicians.

3. It’s like punching Cowell in the face. Without getting beat up by his 8ft Bouncers. And who wouldn’t want that?

4. We haven’t had a good Christmas number 1 since the 80s. or even 70s. Before I was even born.

5. Did I mention e-punching Simon Cowell? He may even be pulling X factor off the air, which means a whole 2 hours a week (possibly more) for other shows.

So I’ve given you (well, Apple) my £0.99. Now everyone get out there and buy Killing in the Name!

Wooohooo! December is the best.

Did I mention that I like December. It’s four days ’til my Birthday, 8 ’til Christmas, and it’s SNOWING! In England! That only happens in March or April…

Can’t wait for Monday to get my brand new iPhone 3G[S], and then on Friday, a new laptop! (Which means inevitably I’ll start blogging on the go, plunging my life to new depths)

Christ. I never thought I’d end up as one of those fat blokes that sits at their computer all day, but when I look back at this in 30 years time, I’ll know exactly when my life started to go downhill. Pretty quickly.

In order to avoid the otherwise inevitable, I will be posting monthly at best, unless something particularly or moderately interesting happens. (Which it doesn’t, usually)
